FOMAS Group collaborated with Arte Laguna Prize to create the “Mastering The Science of Metals” Special Prize, an initiative launched to celebrate the company’s 70th anniversary and strengthen the connection between art, industry and innovation. The project invited artists from around the world to explore the theme “Mastering the Science of Metals”, encouraging creative interpretations of transformation, materiality and the metallurgical expertise that has defined FOMAS Group throughout its history. The initiative reflected the company’s commitment to supporting culture and creativity as powerful drivers of inspiration, knowledge sharing and social engagement.

The international open call attracted 124 artists from 20 countries, generating a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives on the relationship between contemporary art, technology and industrial processes. Through this collaboration, FOMAS Group promoted emerging artistic talent while creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue between the cultural and manufacturing sectors. The project highlighted how art can inspire innovation, encourage new ways of thinking and contribute to the development of stronger connections between businesses, people and local communities. It also reaffirmed FOMAS Group’s long-term commitment to cultural initiatives that create social value and foster sustainable community engagement.

Chosen for the originality, artistic quality and conceptual strength of their works, the winners offered distinctive interpretations of the transformation of matter, bridging scientific thinking, artistic research and industrial innovation.
