11th of April 2025, Osnago – FOMAS Group a global player in the production of forgings, seamless rolled rings, and metal powders has announced an initial €15 million investment in advanced production technology, marking the beginning of a broader strategic plan to enhance efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and meet growing customer demand. This investment underscores the company’s long-term commitment to innovation and sustainability while reinforcing its competitive position in the market.
The investment will be directed toward the implementation of a 5-tons controlled atmosphere furnace - vacuum induction melting (VIM)- for processing super alloys. This advancement will enhance the manufacturing process by achieving superior control over metal quality. It also presents an exceptional opportunity to develop melting practices tailored to specific alloy compositions and desired properties while positively contributing to FOMAS Group’s circular economy. This state-of-the-art technology will be deployed at the company’s Osnago, (Lecco Italy) facility.
"This effort marks another significant milestone in our journey toward smarter, more sustainable manufacturing," said Jacopo Guzzoni, President & CEO of FOMAS Group. "By integrating this leading-edge technology into our production lines, we will not only assure a solid and reliable growth of our presence in specific markets but also reduce our carbon footprint and deliver higher-quality products to our customers."
This project aligns with FOMAS Group’s broader commitment to innovation, following previous investments in metal powder production and, earlier, in the Electro Slag Remelting plant. By adopting the latest advancements in manufacturing, FOMAS Group is poised to drive long-term growth and provide customers with superior products.
