FOMAS Group is the Main Sponsor of the fourth edition of artColorBike, the exhibition dedicated to the blending of visual arts and music. The goal of the event is focussing on the environment, sustainable mobility and raising a sense of consumption awareness through art and colour. The venue is the Hall of Columns at La Fabbrica del Vapore, from 17th May to 11th June 2022.
ArtColorBike is a project devised by Contexto, a Milan-based publishing and communication agency, and created in association with the Municipality of Milan | Culture, with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts; the initiative is included in the Milanese cultural program. The exhibition envisages the installation of 12 works created by art students selected by the Brera Academy. Complying with the subject of the exhibition, the artists have used the bicycle as a material means of expression; music and noise as an immaterial medium. Actually, each artist drew inspiration from music, a melody or a noise in creating the visual work, in continuous synch between what we hear, what we see and what we feel.
Bicycle, on what grounds?
To conjure up their works, all students started with used bicycles. First and foremost, the two-wheeler is a symbol of a sustainable choice. The raw material was practically retrieved from scrap, therefore reminding us of the huge amount of waste we generate. This junk can, however, have a second life, even turning into a work of art. The fruits of labour are then returned to the community in the form of works that can be admired in a place of great prestige, allowing the exhibition to be enjoyed freely.
