The Rings Division is the powerful combination of two entities within the FOMAS Group: Large Rings & Small Rings. In order to comply with the most demanding markets our Sales Departments have organised their structures in order to supply rings, ranging from 150 mm up to 7,000 mm diameter.
The Large Rings Division is a leading producer of top quality rolled rings. The high flexibility of the manufacturing process allows for the production of small batches of rings while maintaining a high level of productivity. Also, the Large Rings Division maintains excellent mechanical machining know-how and is therefore able to supply particularly demanding sectors like Electric Power Generation, Oil & Gas and Wind Turbine reduction gears.
The LRD produces approximately 60,000 tons per year and has capacity to manufacture rings in the following range: 7,000 mm diameter, 1,200 mm in height and up to an approximate weight of 14 tons (up to 20 tons weight in the Bay Forge plant in India).
The Small Rings Division mainly produces profiled rings in Italy, France and China (beginning in June 2008) for the world's leading manufacturers of industrial bearings and automotive transmissions.
This Division has an exceptional combination of technical know-how and tremendous familiarity with delicate logistical issues concerning "Just-in-Time" manufacturing. These characteristics have made this Division one of the leading - and in certain instances the sole - supplier for major global companies that require precision small rolled rings.
