The FOMAS Group strives to sustain its profitability providing the highest level of quality and safety throughout the entire manufacturing cycle and at the same time ensuring the least possible impact on the environment.
Environmental policy statement
With regard to Quality Assurance, the FOMAS Group has been ISO 9000 certified since 1991. In 2003 the FOMAS Group achieved ISO 14000 certification governing Environmental Compliance. The FOMAS Group has always been sensitive to environmental issues related to its activity. Considering the strategic importance of environmental aspects, the FOMAS Group intends to increase its commitment in this area by continuously enhancing its environmental compliance with the new ISO 14001: 2004 code.

The FOMAS Group therefore intends to manage its plants in accordance with the following steps:

1. Ensure that environmental laws and regulations as well as the rules spontaneously adopted by the Group companies are applied and enforced

2. Adopt the best available technological solutions in order to prevent any negative environmental fallout by increasing the operational reliability of plants and by ensuring that environmental targets are met.

3. Guarantee a constant enhancement of the Group's environmental services through measures such as control programs for the main environmental aspects relating to each manufacturing site.

4. Implement activities by optimising energy consumption and reducing waste.

5. Involve all human resources in the plant by means of dedicated training activities aimed at reaching the highest levels of professionalism and responsibility towards the environment.

6. Actively cooperate with local Authorities and Bodies to develop solutions for specific environmental issues and to provide immediate and clear responses.

All employees of the FOMAS Group and its Contractors are requested to comply with the spirit and the contents of the afore-mentioned Environmental Policy Document.
